An AT&T commercial attacking Verizon that actually made sense. They showed Luke Wilson downloading his picture on an AT&T network and the same photo on a Verizon network. And they show the AT&T download being done first before the commercial was over, and a headless Luke Wilson trying to walk around aimlessly.
This, as long as you're in a spot where AT&T's 3G coverage is, is actually true. AT&T's 3G data network is actually faster. Too bad your 3G network footprint is still only 1/5th the size of Verizon's. And too bad that your claim of having the "most popular" smart phones is coming to an end with your iPhone monopoly ending next year.
Verizon is actually switching to a new format next year which will allow for SIM Card chips. It's going to be interesting to see how they handle the roll-out of this new network standard. Sprint/NEXTEL is *still* going through headaches on their merge with two very incompatible technologies. Verizon is going to have to deal with these types of headaches over the next two years, because their new format is NOT compatible with their existing format.
